Roll-Off Test

This test is designed to prove the stability, of the helmet, on the head.

• The helmet is placed, face down, onto a headform mounted at an angle of 135 degrees from the vertical (i.e. pointing downward).
• A weight (specified by the appropriate standard) is attached to the rim, at the highest point of the helmet (see picture, right).
• The weight is raised to a pre-determined height (specified by the appropriate standard) and dropped.
• This is repeated with the helmet facing upwards.

The test is passed if the helmet remains on the headform for all drops.
